The Steps to Work Programme is still proving a success for its participants in the Moyle area. BCW Training Ltd has helped 9 members of the Moyle community back into employment from June to November 2012.
The individuals attended a placement with the potential employers and then successfully gained employment in the following vocational areas: administration, electronic engineering, maintenance, retail and tourism.
We are so pleased for those who have gained employment through the Steps to Work Programme and we wish them all success in the future.

John Quinn may have spent most of his working life on a building site but he has swapped his trowel for a pair of scissors and opened Ballycastle’s newest Barber Shop Q-Cutts. Originally a bricklayer by trade, John was determined to not become a victim of the current economic downturn. He had a passion for barbering and the enthusiasm to turn it into a career.
John turned to his previous training provider BCW Training Ltd for advice on how to re-train as a barber. John said “Without the help and support of BCW Training my ambition to open Q-Cutts would have never been fulfilled.” BCW Training Ltd signposted John back to into a training programme, giving him encouragement and support to open his own business.
BCW Training Ltd is extremely proud of John’s achievement. Madeline Black, Assistant Manager commented “John has always shown determination throughout his training. This clearly shines through as he has taken the big step of going into business for himself. We wish him every success in the future.”
