Local employer support increases placements
There has been a marked increase in the number of our Training For Success participants gaining placements. The number of participants on placement has increased by 30% over the last few months.
Vocational training is vital to the success of the participants on the programme: teaching them the skills they need to complete their qualification and prepare them for work. BCW Training Ltd would like to give a big thank you to the local employers who have supported the Training For Success Programme and gave these young people a chance.
If you are a local employer in Moyle and are interested in being a placement provider for the Training For Success Programme (16 to 18 year olds) or Steps to Work Programme (18 years +) please visit the Employers section of the website at www.bcwtraining.co.uk or call us on 028 2076 2902.

A Cut Above the Rest
John Quinn may have spent most of his working life on a building site but he has swapped his trowel for a pair of scissors and opened Ballycastle’s newest Barber Shop Q-Cutts. Originally a bricklayer by trade, John was determined to not become a victim of the current economic downturn. He had a passion for barbering and the enthusiasm to turn it into a career.
John turned to his previous training provider BCW Training Ltd for advice on how to re-train as a barber. John said “Without the help and support of BCW Training my ambition to open Q-Cutts would have never been fulfilled.” BCW Training Ltd signposted John back to into a training programme, giving him encouragement and support to open his own business.
BCW Training Ltd is extremely proud of John’s achievement. Madeline Black, Assistant Manager commented “John has always shown determination throughout his training. This clearly shines through as he has taken the big step of going into business for himself. We wish him every success in the future.”
If you would like to sample Q-Cutts yourself please contact John on 07731711964 or check out Q-Cutts on Facebook www.facebook.com/becausequalitymatters.
